You don’t want to forget these things on your wedding day!

While you don’t want to forget even the smallest detail, there are a few things that you absolutely can’t leave behind. Check this list before you head to the ceremony, and you’ll have everything you need!

Don’t forget both of your outfits—from head to toe.

We know you won’t forget the dress, but shoes, earrings and even your veil can easily slip the mind. Make a list of every last thing you’re wearing, and check them off as you pack them up a day or two ahead of time.

Don’t forget a Steamer.

Don’t trust that your venue or wedding planner will have one of these on hand. Bring a travel steamer and some distilled water as well. Hard water, like what you get out of the tap here in Tennessee can really spot clothing. If you use someone else’s they might not be using distilled water and do you really want to risk those spots on such an important day?

Don’t forget your wedding bands.

You’ve gotten so used to wearing just an engagement ring that it can be easy to forget that super special second set, but those are a crucial part of the ceremony!

Don’t forget the marriage license!

Don’t forget that this whole wedding isn’t just for show. You still have to make it all legal. Give your marriage license to your wedding planner or officiant as soon as you arrive so they will have it available to sign right after you say “I do.”

Don’t forget the details.

Your guest book. Champagne flutes and that gorgeous engraved cake knife set. A complete stationery suite and your wedding day jewelry. Even those custom cufflinks and tie that you spent all that time selection. It’s those little details that make the bigger overall picture. Collect these items up separately and leave them by the bridal suite door when you arrive. Put them next to your dress so that your photographer can easily find them. Those detail shots are often everyone’s favorites.

Don’t forget the wedding timeline.

It’s probably already engraved in your brain, but your wedding party and extended family might not have the schedule memorized. Bring a few printed copies, just in case. We all know your wedding planner will keep everyone on schedule, but passing the timeline out will greatly reduce the number of questions people will be asking you while you try to relax and prepare for your big moment.

Don’t forget your vendor contact information.

If all goes according to plan and you have an amazing wedding planner, you won’t need to reach them, however, if you don’t it certainly can’t hurt to have their phone numbers on hand just in case.

Don’t forget payment and tips.

Put vendor tips in envelopes before the wedding day, and hand them off to your wedding planner. They can hand them out on your behalf so you can enjoy the party.

Don’t forget an overnight bag (and honeymoon luggage).

Hate to break it to you, but you can’t (or probably shouldn’t) wear your wedding dress home the next morning. Bring a change of clothes for your morning-after brunch or honeymoon travel days. If you’re leaving for a grand adventure right after the big day, bring all your luggage with you.

Don’t forget some snacks and water.

Unfortunately, you are unlikely to get a full meal during the reception. You will be so busy running around, greeting people and spending time with your loved ones. Stash a few granola bars in your purse and overnight bag for when hangry strikes. And while you probably want to sip champagne all night, keep water within arms’ reach. Don’t forget to bring bottles of water for while you’re getting ready. If you are fully hydrated your skin will just glow in those photos!

Don’t forget an emergency kit.

You never know what could go wrong! Pack a small emergency kit to fix any mishaps on the big day. Ask a bridesmaid or your wedding planner to keep it on hand for you.

Don’t forget your vows!

If you wrote your own vows, be sure to give them to your officiant prior to the ceremony so that they can pass them over to you during the moment you exchange your vows. After all, walking down the aisle with a sheet of paper, notecards or even a pretty little vow book is definitely not going to complete your overall look.
