Darin and Megan has the most delightful game themed wedding at Steel Magnolia Barn!

The prospect of marrying the love of your life should be seen as a fun adventure. For Megan and Darin, it was just that. They met at work, but it was their mutual love for games that truly brought them together. As their relationship grew as their passion for plants and gardening did as well. It seemed only natural that they would want to incorporate their two mutual passions into one extraordinary event at Steel Magnolia Barn.

Their Event Vision

We met with Darin and Megan and heard about what they were envisioning. We immediately jumped at the opportunity to make a gorgeous, game themed wedding a magical reality. I know they were glad that 7Nine Photography was there to capture all the memories of this beautiful day!

The Venue

The Steel Magnolia Barn lent the perfect backdrop for intertwining the beauty of gardening with the fun atmosphere of games. With the help of Larson Floral Co., Megan and Darin were able to pair their beautiful color palette of sage and lavender gray with greenery. Adding succulents galore and floral decor they created some of the most pleasing table settings we have ever seen.

Bridal Beauty

The couple started their adventure with a first look. Megan absolutely glowed in her beautiful wedding dress. Her hair and makeup were expertly styled by One10Beauty. When Darin turned around it was clear that he only had eyes for his stunning bride.

Floral Decor

Megan walked down the aisle holding an absolutely stunning cascading bouquet. It was created with succulents, roses, carnations and greenery, arranged by Larson Floral Co. The couple exchanged vows, lakeside which was the perfect backdrop for this enchanting evening. At the pronouncement, they were met with cheers of pure joy as Darin and Megan officially became husband and wife.

The guest then made their way inside for appetizers and a delectable dinner served by Tasty Table Catering. The pavilion, decorated with crystal chandeliers and drapery, was where guests were able to join in on active gaming tables. They featured some of Megan and Darin’s favorite board games. The children had a fantastic time! Between the activities for them on the kids table as well as playing with the Giant Jenga set there were busy bees. There was even a customized cornhole game featuring with the newlyweds’ last name with a twenty-sided dice set.

Dinner & Desserts

The game didn’t stop there, however. Through the barn doors guest were surprised and delighted to see the theme extended to the head table which was decorated with hand crafted Meeples and Dice. The wedding and groom’s cake was created by Olive Branch Bakery. They were almost photographed as much as the bride and groom. And who could blame them?! The cakes truly embodied the atmosphere of the wedding. Featuring meeples adorning the bride’s cake while the groom’s sported a pair of dragons surrounded by dice. The delicious cakes were the perfect accompaniment to an amazing array of foods provided by Tasty Table Catering.

Dancing

Decorated with meeples and dice, guest were also delighted by the sweetheart table and bridal party table’s decor. Meeples and dice kept popping up in the most delightful manner making everyone smile and we heard many, “Ooh!! Look at that!! and “How cute is this?!” from their guests. Music Tree Entertainment kept the crowd on the dance floor until it was time to finish off the evening. They ended, of course, with a rousing game of board game themed bar trivia! To everyone’s delight, the bride won the showdown.

This was definitely one of our favorite weddings! We loved the unique and playful theme. It truly reflected the unique and playful personalities of our beautiful bride and groom.
