Tablescapes – 4 Tips You Need To Know

The Art of the Tablescape

The overall design of your wedding day tables and place settings are a crucial component of your overall vision. This is what will truly pull together your overall look creating a cohesive design creating a beautiful event. But where to start? There are many things to consider when it comes to tablescape design. Things like color, linens, glassware, place setting layout, flatware arrangement, centerpiece style, and more!

Texture Matters

Different linens can evoke different moods and overall vibes that help further convey your theme. Whether you select a velvet linen for a fall or winter wedding. Something to provide a soft, yet modern look creating a cozy feel for your guests. To a raised texture of dupioni silk conveying a much higher end luxurious vibe to your guests. What you dress your table in is the base of your tablescape. This matters almost more than what you place on top of it.

It’s All About Etiquette

Knowing and adhering to proper placement will keep your design from looking messy. Where to put your wine glasses, salad forks and the way a knife is supposed to lay. Adding additional accoutrements such as a sprig of greenery. A seating card or pre-set salad. This is not only a functional part of the overall design. It also goes a long way to filling out the overall look of your tablescape.

Mix Metals and Materials

For chinaware, this does wonders for a more curated look. We recommend using at least three different kinds of textures and finishes. Accenting this look further with textured linen napkins in contrasting colors goes even further. It creates an impressive first look for your guests.

It’s All In The Details

This couple opted for a wine and cheese theme. Hosting their reception at the vineyard where the groom works as head vintner carefully crafting all the vintages served at their event. The textured paper and vellum menu cards echo back to the invitations and save the date cards initially sent out to guests. While the sprig of rosemary and seating card carefully placed into small cheese wedges provide the farm to table feel that the bride, an excellent chef with her own small restaurant, is known for.
