This is a love story that all started with bubble gum…

Brittany and Jon met at school on one fateful day when Jon decided that he needed some gum after lunch. Brittany, who stopped by the gum dispenser daily, happened to be there. Before Jon put his quarter in, however, Brittany mentioned that if he tilted the machine at a certain angle he would actually get twice the gum for his money…so he did…and he shared it with the girl who, in that very moment, stole his heart.

After over coming many adversities themselves just to get married, having to replan their wedding three times due to a worldwide pandemic was a piece of cake for these two. Getting through difficult times is what they do best…and they always come out stronger in the end. There have never been two people who were ever more meant to be together than Brittany and Jon.

With their shared love of local history, selecting the stately Oaklands Mansion for their wedding day was an easy decision. This 200+ year old home has seen many weddings in their elegant front parlor in its time, but this was the first in recent years which made it even more special for these history buffs!

They were surrounded by only their closest friends and family at Oaklands Mansion. Brittany and Jon opted for a very intimate affair, specially selecting those who have been with them through thick and thin making for one of the most emotional and love filled wedding ceremonies we have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. The love, affection and sheer emotion was so tangible you could have reached out and touched it. There wasn’t a single dry eye when Brittany walked down the aisle and we are fairly certain the shouts and cheers of joy at them being declared husband and wife could be heard for miles.

Jon and Brittany both worked very closely with our team to create the perfect vision of their wedding day at Oaklands Mansion. From the beautifully fragranced, locally sourced florals from Sheila Hines Floral Design to the smallest details like Jon’s customized cherry wood cufflinks we had made specially for him.

Following the ceremony inside Oaklands Mansion guests enjoyed several southern specialties from the famous Bell Buckle Cafe. While they passed appetizers, those invited were taken on guided tours of the elegant mansion. Those who chose not to venture through the palatial home enjoyed cocktails provided by Concoctions.

And what’s a wedding without a delicious dessert to round out the evening? This decadent, buttercream confection was tiered with three difference delicious flavors for guests to enjoy was from Courtney’s Sweet Confections. And believe, us it was a real hit with guests of all ages. We are pretty sure we caught several guests going back for seconds…and who could blame them!

Of course, getting married right around Easter, Brittany and Jon simply could not overlook this wonderful opportunity for their smallest guests. Making excellent use of the many acres on hand at Oaklands Mansion, our team hid over 500 eggs filled with candy, their signature gum and, of course, a golden ticket for an exciting prize!! This wasn’t the only opportunity to win a prize at this wedding, though. This fun loving couple also organized a game of musical chairs for their guests. (And they REALLY got into it!!) One very lucky little boy won a $100 Amazon gift card at the end of that event. When asked he said that he was going to “invest in Pokemon cards.” Wise choice!!

The decadent raw silk linens and contrasting navy napkins were the perfect compliment for the soft hues of Maney Hall. This elegant ballroom was built more recently than the mansion, but experienced architects and designers clearly took great pains to ensure that the old world feel would be replicated in this space as well.

Followed by many more cheers and happy tears, the new Mr. & Mrs. were welcomed into their reception where guests were treated to heartwarming speeches, delicious southern fare, and lots of silly antics that this delightful couple is well known for.

Music Tree Entertainment kept everyone on the dance floor all night long with many fan favorites as well as special songs hand selected by the bride and groom for certain guest whom they knew they would have special meaning for.

At the end of the evening, as their limo arrived to whisk them away on their tropical honeymoon, Jon and Brittany were showered with white blooms, cheers and shouts!
Of course, with such a close knit group of loved ones, before they chose to leave, Brittany and Jon returned for more well wishes and hugs from each and every guest. It made our hearts swell with joy to see so much love with this very special group of people.

A very special thanks to Brittany & Jon’s amazing vendor team.
